50 Cent Swap

Post by Tina Head Lady on Sat Sep 27, 2008 11:23 am

Ok so recently I read about this swap thats called the 50 cent swap...how it works is each person has an envelope and they have to fill it with random bits of pp cut-offs, odd buttons ...excess rub-on's that are left and you just can't find a use for...random bits of ribbon, chipboard and so on....as long as people go by the general rule that the stuff they send will be decent and usable...then I think everybody will be happy and feel like they can use the stuff to create well.....

The postage foe an envelope is 50c so as you can see the name....Ia was just wandering if anybody is interested in this because I am all for it...so I'll start a list

seeing as there are at least 3 of you guys that want to do this, if Tina is busy at the mo I dont mind co0ordinating this (she says nervously)lol...or if ppl dont want to do 3 envelopes we could just do a buddy swap and you only have to do one envelope to one person (no middle person needed)..Im up for either way, just let me know Smile

Thanks for coordinating this my5bratz. I'm happy to do up envelopes for all involved and send them to you to randomly redistribute or however you want to do it. Or I'm happy to send direct to the others.

Do we use the standard size envelopes or the longer ones or can we do whatever size we like? And should the total of our products have an approximate dollar value? Should the products be 'themed' or can they be anything? Sorry for all the questions.

Thanks.

Sorry ladies....lol...I this totally slipped my mind....ummm I am happy to do 3 envelopes if it just makes it easier....i think just put as much into an envelope and also remembering that postage can only be 50cents...and i reckon even a $1....i don't know how that works.....it wouldn't have to be any particular themed stuff ...just tid bits of stuff that you have lying around....is that pretty much everything...oh yeah i suppose the normal sized envelopes that fit a a4 sized pp when its folded three times...would probably be more than enough.....does this sound ok...i am easy either way....

the embellishment swap i did was just a business sized envelope. No theme or $ value, just items we are not using but that are still good enough to be used on a LO (in other words not the cr*ppy stuff no-one will use - not even you, lol they're the bits you donate to the kids Smile) and include a stamp self-adressed envelope for return of items. Just embellishments you have lying around that you wont use but someone else might..ribbon, chipboard, rub-ons, brads, eyelets, the list goes on..lol

Sounds good and thanks for the details. So we're doing 3 envelopes...is that right? I'll make a start on this next week.

if nobody has sent these yet and there is only 4 of us interested we can just do it as a partner swap where we send one envelope to one person and get one back ???

unless you want to just do 3 envelopes and get 3 back

im easy whichever way Very Happy
